Letters to the Editor
Sir, The Bharatiya Janata Party has over-reacted to the article on the Prime Minister, Atal Behari Vajpayee, in Time magazine. The Government opened its eyes to the possession of multiple passports by the Time correspondent, Alex Perry, only after he had written the article? Does this mean that the Government would have let Perry off the hook for holding illegal passports had he not written the article? The mode of protest resorted to by the BJP activists where they burnt copies of Time speaks ill of a democratic country like ours. Mr. Vajpayee should not remain silent and should exhort his men to ignore the article.
