Letters to the Editor
Sir, This has reference to Mr. Hasan's letter `Paying a price' (June 24). It was the stubborn attitude of the Pakistan President, Pervez Musharraf, to make Kashmir the central issue and not Mr. Vajpayee's succumbing to the pressure from his Cabinet ministers that sabotaged the Agra summit. In fact, inviting Gen. Musharraf for peace talks in Agra was a historical decision taken by the Prime Minister. It was a decision which a person with a so-called inattentive mind could not have made.
Ranjan Pant, Lucknow (U.P.)
