Parliament session

NEW DELHI JUNE 25. The monsoon session of Parliament would begin on July 15, coinciding with the election to the post of President. The session will be for one month, upto August 14. This was decided at a meeting of the Union Cabinet today.

Briefing reporters after the Cabinet meeting, the Union Minister and Cabinet spokesperson, Pramod Mahajan, said the decision would be conveyed to the President since he is the authority to issue the necessary proclamation.

There are indications that the elections to the post of Vice-President may be held towards the end of the session.In all, the session would have 23 sittings, including five private members' days.
