Letters to the Editor
Sir, This has reference to Amit Baruah's article, `Will the Thai initiative pay dividends' (June 23). On observation of the last SAARC meeting, the Almaty meeting and the just-concluded Asia Cooperation Dialogue meeting in Thailand, it is clear that the world trend is towards cooperation and coordination for developments in various fields based on friendship in pursuance of the policy of globalisation of the economy and peaceful coexistence thereby concretising world unity. News of this nature gives the hope that the India-Pakistan dispute, Israeli-Palestine conflict and North and South Korean problems could be settled by exertion of international pressure over the adamant nations. There is unanimous approval by all nations for the fight against terrorism so that the dream of World Union or one world could be achieved.
I.A. Ramesh, Pondicherry
