Smerch trials begin

New Delhi June 30. Smerch, a long-range Russian rocket system, which can be used lethally in plains as well as mountains, has begun trials in India prior to its induction into the Army.

The first session of trials of the rocket system with a range of 70-90 km was successfully carried out at the interim test range in Balasore, Orissa on Friday, official sources said. — PTI
