Girl killed in Pak. firing

Jammu July 1. A four-year-old girl was killed in firing by Pakistani troops on a forward village in the R.S. Pura sector in Jammu region, close to International Border.

Police told The Hindu that Bholi was hit by a bullet on her chest when she was asleep in her house in Joura Farm village.

Mortar shelling was reported from Arnia sector and Hiranagar sector. The shells exploded in isolated locations. On the Line of control, Indian and Pakistani troops exchanged small arms fire in Rajouri and Poonch districts.

Meanwhile, a group of militants ambushed a patrol party in Reasi teshil in Udhampur district of Jammu region killing a police constable, Samsher Ahmed.
