AGORC lifts title

TIRUNELVELI July 6. AGORC (Chennai) lifted the TNEB Cup defeating Tamil Nadu Electricity Board 3-1 in the final of the second State-level invitation hockey tournament at VOC ground here on Saturday. Duraisingam scored first for TNEB in the 40th minute. Four minutes later, Sudharsan scored the equaliser for AGORC.

In the tie-breaker Govindaraj and Nagendran scored for AGORC and none scored for TNEB.

Mr. Nagalsamy, Accounts Member, TNEB, presided and Mr. Nainar Nagendran, Minister for Electricity, gave away the prizes.

A special prize was awarded to AGORC goalkeeper Meenakshisundram, who was adjudged the best player of the final.
