The point-to-point price change as measured by the Wholesale Price Index (WPI) rose from the previous week's figure of 2.05 per cent, despite a price dip in vegetables and fruits, wheat, jowar, bottles and black-and-white TV sets. Ever since the administered price mechanism on petroleum products had been done away with from April 1, there were two instances when inflation spurted due to surge in their prices. PTI
