Letters to the Editor
Sir, India, which through the ages has suffered because of lack of unity, shows its unity when in a crisis, and this was evident when all our politicians, irrespective of their party affiliation, rejected the Supreme Court ruling which makes it mandatory for candidates to disclose their assets and criminal antecedents, if any, to the Election Commission. The BJP, with its RSS roots, has also fallen for this, exposing the hypocrisy of its leaders who claim to be nationalists. The EC should now show its strength by sticking to the SC order and ban candidates from contesting elections if they do not comply with the order.
