No nomination

NEW DELHI July 10. Even as the Election Commission issued a notification setting in motion the process of election to the office of the Vice President, to succeed the present incumbent Krishan Kant, no nomination was filed on the first day. According to the schedule the last date for making nominations for the election is July 24; scrutiny on July 25; last date for withdrawal, July 27; polling if necessary on August 12 and counting, if required, would be taken up on the same day.
