Letters to the Editor
Sir, The decision of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India to refer 11 entities to the high court for adjudication on fraudulent accounting practices identified during the stock scams since the early 1990s will have to be appreciated (July 6). But its attempt to arrogate to itself punitive powers is wholly unwarranted. By requiring the high court to adjudicate the cases, the ICAI will enhance its credibility and high level of transparency.
