Last date for IT returns

NEW DELHI JULY 12. The last date for filing of income tax return under the Scheme for Bulk Filing of Returns by the Salaried Employees 2002 has been extended by a month till August 31. A formal notification will be issued shortly. The decision to extend the last date from July 31 to August 31 was taken in view of the fact that the scheme had been notified on June 24 only and, as such, the eligible employees would not have adequate time to avail themselves of the scheme.
