Atwal makes cut, Chiranjeev falters

NEW DELHI JULY 13. Chiranjeev Milkha Singh double-bogeyed the final hole of his second round and missed the cut by one stroke, while Arjun Atwal resurrected himself and sneaked into the weekend rounds of the Barclays Scottish Open golf championship at the Loch Lomond Course in Scotland.

According to information reaching here on Saturday, Atwal began with a birdie and went on to essay three more on the fourth, 14th and 15th.

Bogeys on the sixth and 16th handed him a second round score of two-under 69 and two-round aggregate of one-over 143. The cut was applied at 143 with 75 players making it to the money-making rounds.

After a modest opening, Chiranjeev had a nightmarish start to his round with bogeys on his first two holes. He recovered with birdies on the ninth, 12th and 13th and could have made the cut despite bogeys on the 10th and 12th.

A double-bogey on his closing hole put paid to his aspirations as he made 74 for an aggregate of 144.
