Antulay resigns from AICC Minority Dept.

NEW DELHI JULY 13 . The former Maharashtra Chief Minister, A.R. Antulay, has resigned as the Chairman of the Minority Department of the Congress by making a veiled criticism of the leadership but the AICC sought to downplay the development dubbing it an internal affair.

``Mr. Antulay is a veteran Congress leader. It is an internal matter and we will sort it out," the party spokesman, Anand Sharma, said when asked whether the former's charge that his department was ``more a decorative piece in the museum of AICC'' was not serious. ``This is more a decorative piece in the museum of the AICC than a department which can deliver,'' Mr. Antulay told PTI when asked whether he resigned because the department was ``toothless''.
