According to reports, the victims were tourists. They had stopped near an archaeological site in the district of Mansehra, when an unidentified man lobbed a grenade at them. The wounded were rushed to a local hospital and discharged after treatment. Among the victims were seven Germans, including five women, one Austrian and a Slovak national. Three Pakistanis, including two children, were also injured.
