Medicos to intensify stir

By Our Staff Reporter

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM July 16. The stir by junior doctors of Medical Colleges is set to be intensified following the failure of the talks convened by the Health Minister, P. Sankaran, with student representatives.

The Medical College Junior Doctors' Forum said the Minister had not conceded any of the demands on hiking stipend and reducing the tuition fee hike put forward by the Forum.

The Forum took exception to the authorities who while agreeing that the demands were fair were forcing the students into an agitation. The Government was solely to blame for hardships caused to the public on account of the stir, it added.

Postgraduate students and house surgeons will launch a 72- hour strike from Wednesday.
