As to how long the next dry spell was expected to last, senior officials in the India Meteorological Department said the break in the monsoon activity may not be long this time around. There were already some positive signs. It may take another day or two before something concrete could emerge, they added. Meanwhile, the monsoon boundary has further advanced into some more parts of Rajasthan, Haryana and Punjab, albeit as a weak current.
