Cork, White recalled

LONDON July 20. Allrounders Craig White and Dominic Cork were recalled to the England squad on Saturday for next week's first Test against India at Lord's.

Fast bowler Simon Jones was also called up and may make his Test debut in the four-Test series opener starting July 25.

After postponing the team announcement 72 hours because of the number of injuries to key players, selectors also added batsman John Crawley. Fast bowler Darren Gough returns from injury after missing the 2-1 series win over Sri Lanka.

The squad: Nasser Hussain (captain), Mark Butcher, Dominic Cork, John Crawley, Andrew Flintoff, Darren Gough, Ashley Giles, Matthew Hoggard, Simon Jones, Alec Stewart (wicketkeeper), Graham Thorpe, Michael Vaughan, Craig White. — AP
