Returning from a shoulder injury that forced him to miss the recent triangular limited-over series in England, Muralitharan claimed five wickets for 39 runs to send Bangladesh crashing after a promising start. In reply, Sri Lanka was 32 for no loss at the close of play after openers Marvan Atapattu and Russel Arnold knocked off some quick runs. Atapattu was batting on 20 and Arnold was on 10 at the draw of stumps.
