Bail plea rejected

MUMBAI JULY 21. A local court has rejected the bail plea of Mohammed Farooq, brother of alleged Al- Qaeda terrorist, Mohammed Afroz, accused in a case of sedition. The metropolitan magistrate, R. D. Gate, rejected Farooq's bail petition on Saturday following opposition from the prosecution which contended that he may threaten witnesses if granted liberty.

Farooq surrendered before the court recently after he was declared a proclaimed offender.
