Jharkhand bandh: 5 killed

RANCHI JULY 24 . The day-long Jharkhand bandh in support of the new domicile policy favouring pre-1932 settlers turned violent with bandh supporters resorting to arson and targeting the post-1932 settlers and industrial houses and public undertakings.

The police and security personnel opened fire at several places killing at least five persons and injuring a dozen others. According to police sources, the bandh supporters brought life to a standstill in several parts of the State.
