Sir, The signing-off statement of P.V. Indiresan in `Engineers maligned' (July 1) is very true. It is more so in the case of engineers from institutions such as IITs, who have remained in India by choice or chance and are struggling to add value to the corporate and public sector, often at own peril. Give the engineers their due and see the nation transform. The misgivings about career and environment are unwarranted. Globally the dangers of obsolescence leading to isolation are worse. Coordination between the engineering disciplines can alleviate the environment-related misgivings.
