Compared to June and July last year, there had been some decline in cross-border infiltration for the corresponding period this year, but it was continuing. And there were already enough Pakistani infiltrators in the country to carry out violence for another three to four months with the same intensity. On Pakistan's claim that it had curbed infiltration, Mr. Advani said that it was evident from the statement that Islamabad had been encouraging infiltration in the past. And notwithstanding Pakistan's claims of having stopped infiltration permanently, it was not possible to make an immediate assessment. PTI
