Legislature-judiciary row ends

IMPHAL AUG. 1. The tussle between the legislature and the judiciary in Manipur was resolved today with advocates deciding to end their nine-day cease-work stir and join courts from tomorrow, following a meeting with the Chief Minister, Okram Ibobi Singh, who regretted the attacks on judges' houses and court complex.

Following the decision, the Assembly Speaker, T.N. Haokip, is not likely to press privilege notices against two judges of the Gauhati High Court, sources in the Assembly Secretariat said. _ PTI
