Students book fair opens on August 3

CHENNAI Aug. 1 . The 17th Students Book Fair, involving about two lakh children drawn from more than 300 schools around the city, will be held from August 3 to 12.

The book fair is an annual event organised by the city schools. Secretary of the organising committee, K.V. Mathew says that the fair is the only ``one of its kind in the world''. He says that the book fair aims at imparting of values and promoting the all round development of the students' personalities rather than focussing on making a profit.

The fair will be bringing together students from a variety of schools including Government schools.
