Letters to the Editor
Sir, `The future of law teaching institutions' (Open Page, July, 30) by N.R. Madhava Menon was a thought-provoking article. It is an eye-opener for those who treat legal education as a business tool and do politics with it. In the present system of legal education, law colleges have become production centres for the bargainers rather than elite legal professionals. If this system without proper ethical, technological and sociological temper continues, there will be chaos in the society. As rightly pointed out by the author, for every law school to become a national law school, all the teachers require proper training in the respective fields and every university should take steps to achieve quality improvement in legal education.
