Held on murder charge

By Our Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI AUG. 2. Two persons allegedly involved in a murder case reported from Mehrauli in South Delhi on July 24 have been arrested by the South Delhi police. Two other accused are absconding.

According to the police, Shaheed, a resident of Nut Colony Chhattarpur Pahari, was found lying unconscious on the road at Chhattarpur Pahari around 6 a.m. by his family members. He was rushed to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences where he succumbed to his injuries.

Investigations revealed that Nanhu, also a resident of Nut Colony, was angry with Shaheed as the latter had developed illicit relationship with his wife. Nanhu joined hands with Kamal, Kiranpal and Hemant Sachdeva and hatched a conspiracy.

On the fateful night, the accused, driving a Tata Sumo, followed Shaheed, who was travelling in a Maruti van. As Shaheed reached the road near Chhattarpur Pahari, he stopped the van to relieve himself. The accused then got out of their vehicle, hit Shaheed on the head with stones and fled.

Efforts are on to nab Kamal and his brother-in-law Kiranpal.
