Letters to the Editor
Sir, I am disappointed at the Chief Election Commissioner's statement regarding foreign observers. The purpose of having foreign observers (white and coloured) is to give credibility to the election process in the eyes of the world, especially in view of past elections in Kashmir and the current situation on the ground. Don't we all desire this. I am surprised to see that he has chosen to view this as black versus white. I wish his statement had not appeared in black and white. N. Ananthakrishnan, Pondicherry
