Letters to the Editor
Sir, Refer the Editorial, `Unity as conspiracy' (Aug. 6): it was quite obvious to any person with some commonsense that when the `highly moralistic' BJP called for an all-party meet to discuss the situation arising out of the May 2 Supreme Court judgment relating to elimination of criminalisation in elections after the deadline fixed by the court that no political party is favourably inclined to put an end to the menace and cleanse the polity. However, you chose to entertain a pious hope about the "unanimous" decision to bring forward a "comprehensive" legislation in the ensuing Parliament session. The true colour of all the political parties has been opened up now and you could not but express your anguish. G.M. Rama Rao, Toronto, Canada
