Jawan shoots down Colonel

Jammu Aug. 7. An Army jawan, Abid Hussain, shot dead his Commandant, K.S. Padhi, in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday night, police sources said here today.

Hussain, belonging to Army unit of 4 Grenadiers, killed the officer while he was on duty.

Soldiers who were present in the camp over-powered the rifleman and took him into custody.

The reason behind the killing could not be ascertained.
