Mr. Khan has been the CBI's "public face'' for almost 13 years. Belonging to the 1982 batch of the Indian Information Service (IIS), he was selected for his latest assignment this week-end though in the recent past several senior IFS officers have been posted as Press Secretary to the President. As the Deputy Principal Information Officer of the CBI, Mr. Khan has handled the CBI's PR issues during some of the most controversial times. A gold medalist in LLM and LLB from the Aligarh Muslim University, he was also at the University of Wales, U.K., for a year to get his masters in science. Mr. Khan has also served in the Press Information Bureau, the Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity and All-India Radio.
