Court nod for searches

By Our Staff Reporter

CHENNAI AUG. 7. After withholding its decision for a couple of days, the Special Court for POTA cases at Poonamallee near here today allowed the Q-Branch police to search 12 premises of POTA detenus, including that of the MDMK general secretary, Vaiko.

The Q-Branch moved the Special Court on August 5 seeking a warrant for a general search of the premises owned by Mr. Vaiko. Police are said to be looking for money transactions, the sources of funding and letters and evidence of the suspected communication network.

They are keen on gathering clinching evidence and preparing the ground for the ban of the party along with other Tamil nationalist outfits.
