`Gujarat minorities may not be able to vote'

NEW Delhi Aug 8. The situation in Gujarat is not conducive for members of the minority community to vote fearlessly, the high-level Election Commission team, which toured Gujarat last week, is understood to have told the commission.

In its report submitted to the full commission this afternoon, the nine-member team is understood to have said that minority community people, many of whom are still living in relief camps or outside their homes, may not be able to take part in the elections if these are held immediately.
