Vaiko houses searched By Our Special Correspondent

CHENNAI Aug. 8. The `Q' Branch police today searched the residences of the MDMK leader and MP, Vaiko, and eight other party functionaries, who are being held under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (POTA).

Later in the evening, police also searched the residence of the Tamil Nationalist Movement leader, P. Nedumaran. They seized some literature, audio and videocassettes, a CD, books and documents pertaining to assets.

In a move with far-reaching consequences, police searched `Thayagam,' the headquarters of the party, as part of investigations into the POTA cases.
