Hindujas move SC for lifting travel restrictions

By Our Legal Correspondent

NEW DELHI Aug. 9. The Hinduja brothers, accused in the `Rs. 64 crore Bofors payoff case' have filed an application in the Supreme Court praying for lifting of the travel restrictions imposed on them, viz. that at least one should remain in India at any point of time, while the other two remained outside the country.

In his application, Prakashchand submitted that he and his two brothers, Srichand and Gopichand, were permanent residents outside India for several years. It said the order passed by the Supreme Court had resulted in serious harm and injury to their business as also disruption of their family life.

He prayed that the earlier order be vacated and they be allowed to freely travel in and out of India.
