National Gramasree mela

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM Aug. 11. The national Gramasree Mela being organised by the Rural Development Department will get underway at Marine Drive in Ernakulam on August 12. The Rural Development Minister, C.F.Thomas, will inaugurate it at a function to be chaired by the Fisheries Minister, K.V.Thomas. The Local Administration Minister, Cherkalam Abdulla, will make the first sale.

It is for the first time that a national mela of the type is being organised in the state. It is in connection with the golden jubilee of the department that the effort is being made with the cooperation of the Capart. The mela will be open till Aug.19.
