Fernandes calls on Chandrababu Naidu

By Our Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD Aug. 16. The NDA Chairman, George Fernandes, called on the TDP president, N. Chandrababu Naidu, at the latter's residence here on Friday.

The 45-minute long meeting between the two leaders aroused interest among political circles but Mr. Naidu said it was a courtesy call by Mr. Fernandes who had come to visit some defence installations here. He dismissed the suggestion that there were political overtones to the meeting and said the media had the tendency to blow things out of proportion.

Mr. Fernandes himself was not available for comment as he drove away hurriedly from Mr. Naidu's residence avoiding waiting presspersons.
