By Our Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD AUG. 17. The Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, participated in a series of programmes in Hyderabad, Vijayawada and Cuddapah as part of the 46th round of `Clean and green' drive on Saturday. The drive undertaken every third Saturday of the week this time coincided with the 53rd Vanamahotsava.

The ambitious programme to plant 1.6 crore seedlings at different places throughout the State during the day was kicked off by the Chief Minister at Manchirevula village in the Chilkoor Forest Block of Ranga Reddy district.

He then flew into Cuddapah and announced a special package for two-drought-affected Assembly constituencies in Cuddapah district and three constituencies in Chittoor district.

The Forest Minister, Ch. Ayyana Patrudu, who presided, explained that under the month-long programme, arrangements were made to supply 30 crore saplings in all districts. Mr. Naidu arrived in Vijayawada 90 minutes behind schedule.

He commissioned a civic service centre and declared open a Government of India-funded working women hostel.
