Pak. trying to sabotage Kashmir polls: Sinha

Hazaribagh Aug. 17. The External Affairs Minister, Yashwant Sinha, has alleged that Pakistan was trying to sabotage the Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir with the help of terrorists.

Talking to reporters here, Mr. Sinha said Pakistan was creating obstacles in holding free and fair polls in the State. "However, we will never let it fulfil its dreams."

``Pakistan is taking the help of terrorists as it is aware that it cannot win any war with India. The Pakistan President, Pervez Musharraf, cannot keep his commitments made on the international platform.''

Despite promises made to the United States to put an end to terrorism and infiltration and dismantle terrorist training camps, Pakistan continued helping the training camps in the region, he said. Mr. Sinha ruled out demobilisation of troops from the border in the ``near future.''

``There will be no demobilisation of our troops from the border in the near future. We are prepared to deal with them firmly and with full strength to protect our sovereignty,'' the Minister said at a seminar on `India's Foreign Policy in Present Perspective', organised by the Vinoba Bhave University here.

``Creating instability in India is at the core of Pakistan's foreign policy, but having good relations with our neighbours is at the core of our foreign policy... It is unfortunate that Pakistan is not reciprocating our gesture,'' Mr. Sinha said.
