Shekhawat invites Jayalalithaa for swearing-in

CHENNAI AUG. 17. After the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa's complaint on the issue of invitations for the swearing-in of the President, the Vice-President-elect, Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, today personally phoned and invited her for his swearing-in ceremony on August 19.

An official press release said today that ``the Vice-President-elect spoke to the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.. and requested the Hon'ble Chief Minister to take part in the swearing-in ceremony of the Vice-President of India to be held at New Delhi on Monday. The Hon'ble Chief Minister has accepted the invitation of the Vice-President-elect.''
