A cosy get-together at Advani's residence

By Our Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI AUG 18. Though being dubbed as a "power lunch,'' it turned out to be a cosy get-together at the Prithviraj Road residence of the Deputy Prime Minister, L.K.Advani, today which also provided a rare informal outing for the families of the country's top political leaders.

Just after presiding over the crucial meeting of the Union Cabinet on formulating the Government's response to the Election Commission's decision on deferring polls in Gujarat, the Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee headed straight for Mr. Advani's residence for the lunch.

The lunch at the Advani household brought together the Vice-President-elect, Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, the Deputy Chairperson of the Rajya Sabha, Najma Heptullah, the Defence Minister, George Fernandes, the Finance Minister, Jaswant Singh and the BJP president, Venkaiah Naidu.
