Gujarat Governor meets PM
New Delhi
Aug. 19.
The Gujarat Governor, Sunder Singh Bhandari, had a meeting with the Prime Minister, Atal Behari Vajpayee, here today.
His meeting comes a day after the Union Cabinet decided to refer the Election Commission's order deferring polls in Gujarat till November-December this year to the President, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, for his opinion.
Mr. Bhandari is understood to have discussed the situation arising out of the Election Commission's order. He was also believed to have briefed the Prime Minister about the law and order situation in the State. — PTI
