The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa, who was here to attend the swearing-in of the Vice-President, Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, told correspondents that she would be attending the meeting. In response to a question, she said Tamil Nadu was getting overflows from the Kabini reservoir in Karnataka and not its stipulated share of water as per the Cauvery River Water Tribunal interim award. The meeting is being convened under the directions of the Supreme Court, which was approached by the Tamil Nadu Government for its share of the river water. The Chief Ministers of all the four riparian States Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Pondicherry and Kerala are members of the CRWA which is chaired by the Prime Minister. Ms. Jayalalithaa called on the President, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.
