SC on Lokpal

NEW DELHI AUG. 19. With reports of a scam everyday, would it not be a better idea to appoint a Lokpal to look into corruption in public life, the Supreme Court today asked the Solicitor-General, Harish Salve.

A three-judge bench observed this when Mr. Salve mentioned an aplication seeking modification in the 1996 order of the Court on cancellation of allotments of petrol pumps. — PTI
