SC may take up TANSI cases today

By Our Legal Correspondent

NEW DELHI AUG. 20. The TANSI land deal cases, involving the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa, which were listed for "final hearing" in the Supreme Court today could not be taken up (as they were in the bottom of the list) and are likely to come up on Wednesday.

A Bench, comprising Justice S. Rajendra Babu and Justice P. Venkatarama Reddy, will hear the appeals filed by the DMK advocate, R.S. Bharathi, and the Janata Party president, Subramanian Swamy, challenging the Madras High Court judgment acquitting Ms. Jayalalithaa of all charges.
