BJP chief relinquishes land

NELLORE AUG. 22. The BJP president, M. Venkaiah Naidu, has decided to relinquish the land allotted to him in his native Nellore district and have it distributed among the landless poor.

A newspaper had reported that Mr. Naidu had got nearly 5 acres, meant for distribution among the landless poor, allotted to him.

The BJP president spoke to B. Anantharamulu, Collector, to convey his decision. The Collector, in turn, issued a press release on Thursday saying the land was taken over for distribution to the landless poor.
