Kirubakaran's team in lead

CHENNAI AUG. 22. Kirubakaran's team of Chennai represented by N.R. Kirpakaramurthy, J.M. Shah, Debshish Roy, Anil Pahadye and B. Prabakar, with 123 VPs out of possible 150 VPs, occupied the top slot at the end of the sixth round of round robin matches in the World Bridge championship, which commenced at Montreal, Canada, on August 20, according to a press release from CDBA.

Totally 160 teams are in the fray for the Rosenblum Cup World championship, which is played once in four years. The teams are divided into 16 groups of ten teams each wherein each group will play a round robin amongst themselves (totally 9 matches). Out of which four teams from each group (64 teams) will qualify for the knockout stage.
