Madhya Pradesh
By Our Special Correspondent
Party sources said that while it is certain now that Vasundhara Raje, Minister in the Vajpayee Government, will be taking over as president of the Rajasthan unit, a search seems to be on to find another name for Madhya Pradesh. The former Chief Minister, Kailash Joshi's name is being mentioned in this context. A change in the Chhattisgarh unit has already been announced. The former Minister, Raman Singh, is to take that position, and changes might also been made in Himachal Pradesh and perhaps even in Jammu and Kashmir after the elections in the State. Earlier, the plan was to make simultaneous announcement of changes in several State units a few days after the end of the monsoon session of Parliament. But a series of scandals related to party leaders has kept it busy with denials and statements aimed at damage control.
