THIRUVANANTHAPURAM Aug. 23. Kerala thrived as the mediocre field failed to test its riders and is on the threshold of retaining the overall title in the South Zone cycling championship at the LNCPE Velodrome on Friday.

Tamil Nadu (2:09.77). 4km team pursuit: 1. Kerala (5:26.38), 2. Andhra Pradesh (5:44.60), 3. Tamil Nadu (6:13.25). 4km individual pursuit: 1. S.V.Ramesh (Ker) (5:51.60), 2. Raj Kumar (Ker) (6:08.32), 3. S.Prabhu (TN) (6:08.70). 10km point race: 1. R.B.Yenteth (Kar) (18 points), 2. H.S Santhosh (Ker), 3. B.Divakar Rao (AP).

Boys: Under-18: 1km sprint: 1. R.L.Manoj (Ker) (13.07s), 2. John Jyothis Kurien (Ker), (14.07), 3. Udale Clarke (AP), (14.09). 3km individual pursuit: 1. Ajesh Mohan (Ker) (4:21.39), 2.
