Flood control rooms set up

NEW DELHI AUG. 23. Though the likelihood of floods in Delhi is remote because of a poor monsoon in most parts of North India, the Delhi Development Authority has nevertheless made elaborate arrangements to meet any eventuality and to protect areas under its jurisdiction from flooding.

For monitoring of the overall situation, a Central Flood Control Room has been located at the Auction Hall Building near Vikas Minar. Besides, eight Zonal Control Rooms have been operationalised at Nodal Zonal locations. All these control rooms, will work round-the-clock till September 30.

The citizens of Delhi residing or working in DDA controlled areas have been requested by the civic agency to contact the respective control rooms for immediate relief in case of any emergency or inconvenience due to flood.

For the Central Zone the flood control room is located at Auction Hall, Vikas Minar; for East Zone at O/O EE-ED-14 Seed Bed Park, Vikas Marg; for Dwarka at DDA Office Complex, Manglapuri; for North at O/O EE ND-9, DDA Office Complex Tower, Pitampura; for South East at O/O EE SED-4, Sarita Vihar, Mathura Road; for South West Zone (South) at O/O EE SWD-II, Vasant Kunj; for South West (West) at O/O EE WD-7, DDA Office Complex, Paschim Vihar; for Rohini at Rohini Zone Office, Outer Ring Road, Rohini, and for Electrical/Mechanical at DDA Workshop at Mayapuri.
